Happy Friday, friends! I don't have much time to post today, but just wanted to share some sweet shots of Claire looking all patriotic! I decided to make an exception for the holiday and get her one of those obnoxiously large bows, which was a good call, she was a hit. The only thing I didn't capture was a her munching on watermelon (which she loved!).

We're headed to the airport this afternoon to spend a long weekend in Oklahoma. Sadly, we are visiting family who is very sick. Not the ideal circumstances, but extremely happy we could make this happen last minute. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Independence Day, friends! How are you celebrating today? 

We have fun plans to swim and grill out with friends this afternoon (who also have a little cutie!)  and then a family BBQ tonight - a pretty classic 4th! 

Though we kicked off the festivities this past weekend with a community festival called Celebrate America with our families, which included some wonderful patriotic events, a great performance by Danny Gokey and of course an awesome fireworks show (which our girl slept through!).

Snapshots of a Holiday Weekend

My homemade triple berry pie, laying poolside sipping watermelon "margaritas", bison sliders with an assortment of handmade toppings and homemade vanilla bean ice cream to top off dessert made for a lovely celebration! If it weren't for the very expensive and scary emergency vet trip for Max, the weekend would have been flawless. But alas, life happens. Hope you enjoyed your 4th of July!

It's official, summer is definitely here to stay! As evidenced by the glorious triple-digit weather (yes, I'm weird!), pool parties and these deliciously ripe tomatoes from our garden! Hope you're having a lovely holiday weekend!

A Nice LONG Weekend!

I just love when the weekend seems to keep going and going! I ended up getting off work at noon on Thursday! What a nice boss I have:) And I was off Friday!!

The last 2 1/2 days have been filled with cleaning and organizing every room, closet and crevice, painting, shopping for stuff for the apartment, fun with the family, great food (you know how I love great food!), making money from Craig's list (we finally sold our dining room table!), and of course, fireworks! I am so pleased with how the apartment is coming along! More to come on that tomorrow:)

Sweet Inspiration
