It's A Dog's Life

Have you seen Crate and Barrels new line of pet accessories? Blankets, food bowls and collars galore. Though I am partial to that adorable treat jar! The Hansen's just may need to invest in one for our own lovable pooches.

Mastering the Art of Cozy

Well happy Saturday!

This long weekend is already off to a great start...

When I got to work yesterday morning, I was greeted with the best kind of email and it went something like this:

"We decided to close up early today and get a head start on the long weekend! We are closing at 2, but because you come in early you can leave at noon."

Wahoo! And not only did I get to leave early, but my boss bought us Chipotle for lunch and even went to get it early for me. Talk about a nice surprise!!

So what did I do with the few extra hours? Well, I went home, got in my comfies, grabbed my all-time favorite book, Jane Eyre, and snuggled with Abby for over 3 hours! It was glorious!!

The only thing that could have made my afternoon better is if I would have had this:

Republic of Tea Pumpkin Chai Red Tea

Absolutely beautiful and fragrant! I bought it this morning at Crate and Barrel and am already brewing my second cup:) So happy I found it as I was in search of a new Fall tea!

And to complete the beginning of this already wonderful weekend, I am delighting in the thoughtful surprise my husband brought me yesterday:)

I was greeted with a kiss and these flowers when he got home! Yep, he's the best!

Enjoy your weekend!

Friday Favorites!

Happy Friday! Here are a few of my favorite things from this week!

*Kendall table cloth -

You all know how much I adore Crate and Barrel! On Monday afternoon I went and spent a gift card Chris and I received for our anniversary! I have been eyeing this for a few months and am so pleased I decided to get it! I'm not usually one for tableclothes, I usually go for placemats or runners, but this is a nice change and it really brings out the tuscan colors in my kitchen while cheering up the room with it's sunny brightness:)

*Saving money! -

Who doesn't like saving money, right? This week I went to the oral surgeon I was reffered to by my dentist. It went great, dentist was nice, office was nice, easy enough...until they showed me my estimated portion after my insurance. A hefty $1000! I didn't think much of it because I knew getting my wisdom teeth pulled would be expensive. The next day at lunch Chris and I were looking over the bill and he suggested that they may not be a prefered provider for our insurance company. Honestly, I kind of wrote it off thinking the dentist wouldn't refer us to a non-prefered provider, knowing what insurance we have. Sure enough, after calling them I found out Chris was right. After some resistance, my dentist gave me the number of a prefered provider. I called to get an estimate, assuming it may be a few hundred dollars difference and in that case would be worth the switch of surgeouns. Yeah, I found out it will cost us $230 with the other place!! I immediately scheduled my appointment for next month. Can you believe what a difference that makes? The craziest thing is, I didn't even know to ask, assuming everyone is going to do what is best for everyone else. Obviously I was wrong and I am so grateful for Chris and how when it comes to money, he doesn't just take someone's word for things. He actually looks and researches to find the best deals. What a blessing!

*Transformers 2 -

Okay, so not typically my kind of movie, but we watched the first one and thought it was pretty good, so why not see the second? Oh my goodness, it was awesome! Seriously!! Just make sure not to bring kiddos that are too young, there is some language and non-child appropriate content.

*Thanks you cards! -

I'm a sucker for cute stationary and I believe it is fully worth every penny! I found these at a cute store in San Francisco last weekend. The design is by Andy Warhol and is so very cute and summery!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Bridal Showers and Flowers

Whole Foods and Crate and Barrel. That's how this Saturday morning began:)

I am currently inhaling the delightful aroma of the orange, cherry and pecan coffee cake that I just baked for Emily's bridal shower this evening! I really hope it turns out as good as it smells!

While I was grocery shopping, I picked out a beautiful bunch of flowers and when I got home, Chris had picked roses from his parents garden for me:)

So let's see, two of my favorite places, a bridal shower, seeing my sweet friend for the weekend and several flower arrangements in my house. Yeah,it has been a great day!

I'm going to let these pictures describe the current state of my fabulous mood!

I bought this vase and some other things at C&B with birthday money!

Love the pinks and greens! It's so refreshing:)

Homegrown roses!

Don't these towels put you in a good mood?

Cute little herb labels:)

Hope your weekend is wonderful and relaxing!
