{Winning & Walking}

This weekend was quite an eventful one for the Hansens!

For starters, the Giants swept the Tigers in the World Series!! That makes two World Series Championships in three years :) We are obviously stoked and you wouldn't think that much else could top off that excitement in our sport-loving home, but during the 8th inning of last night's game Claire decided to take her first steps!!!

 She definitely made sure we would never forget that milestone! And best of all, Chris and I were both there to see it, not once, but twice. She's amazing and we're so excited to watch as her confidence in walking continues to grow. Way to go, sweet girl :)

It happened so quickly, we weren't able to capture pictures of the moment. Though, I do have these sweet pics of your royal cuteness a few hours before the game. Dang she's cute!

In other news, we took our first family trip to Bishop's Pumpkin Patch on Saturday with the Grandmas and the Grandpas! Baby Girl picked out her first pumpkin, played in the hay and sat on a tracker, so clearly, fun was had by all!

Hope ya'll had amazing weekends!! Did I mention my baby walked this weekend?!! Happy Monday!

Well Done

And the Giants are officially the World Series Champions!! Well done boys, well done! There's no doubt my husband will be living on this high for the next year to come-at least!

A Few Firsts

Happy November! I trust you had a wonderful Halloween weekend-especially if you are cheering for the Giants in the World Series!! Here the weather was perfect and festivities abundant.

Wine tasting with the Hills on Saturday was nothing short of lovely. Brad and Laura had never been so it was great to experience with newbies! And thank you to Brad for being our entertained DD:)

{Notice he's pretending to hold a glass here...funny one}

And Sunday we had dinner with family where I cooked my first EVER roasted chicken via this recipe I've been dying to try for over a year! Well, I actually cooked two since we had seven people. And it did not disappoint - tender, juicy and flavorful, all a roasted chicken should be! Plus there are leftovers for dinner tonight-score! And I must say, roasting a chicken-much easier than I thought, which means I will definitely be doing it more often! Thanks for the guidance, Mom!

Is it just me or does roasting a chicken well earn you some kind of culinary right of passage?

{Look at those beautiful birds!}

{Roasted carrots and fingerling potatoes-a perfect side!}

Lovely dinner, family, adorable trick-or-treaters and another win for the Giants is a great night in my book! And in case you missed yesterday's post, check out our pumpkins here!

Here's to a merry Monday and a happy start to your week!

Tricks and Treats

Happy Halloween weekend!! I am deeply looking forward to the next few days as we're doing the wine tasting thing with some dear friends, watching game 3 and 4 of the World Series {GO GIANTS!!} and celebrating Halloween with family where we will, of course, be handing out candy to dressed up little sweetie pies!

Have a spooky weekend!

ps~ If you couldn't already tell, we LOVE the wine country!

Rain, Rain Go Away!

I am convinced that weird weather makes for weird days!

Here in Sacramento, we have definitely not had a shortage of sunshine; appropriate for the time of year and much appreciated!! It has made it much easier to go for my runs in the evenings after work. And not to mention just being more active throughout the day. Who wouldn't want to be outside when it is a perfect 71 degrees?!

I'm not really sure what happened, but this afternoon I was working away and I realized it was raining!! Excuse me?? Where did my sunshine go? And especially right before my birthday! The weather report says it should clear up by Friday, but that's still cutting it a bit close for my comfort!

Don't get me wrong, I love big rains, just not in April. This is pretty much how I feel today:(

So what have been the effects of this strange turn of the weather you ask? Well for me, I am finding it hard to get motivated to work out tonight. Bah! I have been doing so well and pushed through being really tired at the end of last week and now this? All I can say is, it will take some major motivation from my hubby to not put my sweats on when I get home:)Especially since I have a super yummy dinner planned tonight (soba noodles with grilled flank steak). I should also mention how the strangest people come out of the woodwork on days like this! Not only was I swamped at work, but I dealt with some real crazies today!

Today wasn't all negative though. Chris actually took the day off and got to watch the Giants opener! Honestly, I was a bit jealous when he was still in bed and I was leaving for work this morning, but it really was much deserved. I am so blessed with a husband who I can be proud of! I know that he has always and will always do everything in his power to suppport us and that is such a wonderful feeling. Thank you for your hard work, my Love! I hope you enjoyed your day off!
