This past weekend we were in Illinois celebrating my grandma's 75th birthday! It was so fun for Claire to meet my family and spend some quality time with everyone! We were also happy to introduce our girl to her Great Great Grandpa! I consider it a wonderful blessing that my daughter has three living great, great grandparents!!
Of course this trip gave us our first experience in flying with a newborn. And I've got to say, despite my hyper anxiety the day we left, Claire did amazing! Barely made a peep, even with five legs of flights (thanks to the magic of nursing!)! I consider that a right of passage as new parents:)
Aside from the insanely cold weather, it was a wonderful family trip!

TGIF: Indy Bound!
Happy Friday! Besides it being the end of a cra-zay work week, I am riding high on the enthusiasm that my husband and I are heading to Indiana this afternoon! We are really looking forward to celebrating my little brother's 1st birthday tomorrow and spending some good, quality time with the family. The break from normal life is also much appreciated :) Be back next week. Until then, have a lovely weekend!

{I Wish...}

Between getting a late start this morning and not feeling fully prepared for the long day ahead of me, I could really use a little vacation!
If I had just one wish, it would be to catch the next available flight to Hawaii (with my husband, of course!). I feel certain the sandy beaches and salty ocean breeze would make all my troubles melt away...

{I Wish...}

Ay, with too little sleep and my new-found seasonal allergies, I am having a rough go today. I would very much like to blink myself right back to this pretty little city in Italy where my mom and I stayed for a whole week during my semester abroad.
Sleeping late, sipping cappuccinos at the little cafe by the water, watching sweet old fisherman and not having a care in the world. Yes, I would very much like to be there today. {sigh}

Travel Fantasy
I've been inspired by several of my frequent blog reads who have posted about their travel fantasies. Naturally, I am inclined on dreary days like today to do a little daydreaming of my own about a lovely getaway to places far far away...
If money wasn't a factor, I would kidnap my husband from work and hop on a plane to Brazil where we could vacation at the incredible Uxua Casa Hotel!
I can already picture us sipping drinks by the beautiful Quartz pool, or by the beach for that matter, enjoying the local Brazilian fusion cuisine and then melting away every stress with a few body treatments in their spas tranquil outdoor treatment rooms. Oh, and I definitely call dibs on the hammock!

This definitely gets me hoping for a long weekend getaway soon!
