On Hell's

Can I please get a WOO HOO! It's friday, which means that I am still obsessing over last night's episode of Hell's Kitchen! I love this show and I can't believe it has come down to the finale:0 Man am I nervous for the last two contestants, Paula and Danny. Unlike last year, I really don't have a favorite, as they are both fantastic and have such different cooking styles. Just for the record, after seeing last night's show, my bets are on Paula. Although, Danny always seems to surprise me and to be honest, I think I would prefer his cooking:)I can't believe I have to wait a week to know! I will be sad when the show is over. It's the only show I watch consistently:)

So, I cannot believe how rested I feel today! After an entire day spent with a terrible headache yesterday, I was sure I would feel like crap today, but my body pleasantly surprised me and I'm back to my spunky self!

And for those of you who keep asking, I have no update on the house:( Can I just give a quick thank you for being as anxious and excited to find out as Chris and me!! You have no idea how much your love and support means to us!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Much love!

Weekend Madness

Whew, I made it through my least favorite day of the week ~ Tuesday!! Not only does today mark the halfway point of the week, but I finally have a Doctor's appointment!! Hooray for our health insurance kicking in:) I don't know that I have ever been so excited to see my doctor! This also means that I get to leave 2 hours early from work!! I think I will use the extra time to workout and prep dinner so that I can have dinner on the table when Chris gets home:)

I'm also gearing up for the busy weekend ahead. I am running the Race for the Cure 5k Saturday morning followed by a baby shower and then finishing up the plans for Mother's Day on Sunday! I love celebratory weekends! In addition, Em's wedding is in just over 2 weeks, which means I have a bunch of little things to do: getting my dress taken in and bachelorette party planning...! And to top it off, my father-in-law is turning 40 at the end of this month!! Crazy but so wonderful!

Keep pushing through, the weekend is almost here!

Daydreaming

What's on my mind on a Tuesday...

I'm not gonna lie, today I am lusting for summer. The warm weather has been a teaser for what's to come in the next few months...

Here are some of my favorite things about warm weather:

First of all, what is better than sun dresses? Especially this one from Anthropologie!

Delicious, light summer food:) It's even better when cooked and enjoyed outside by the pool!

Margaritas. Enough said;)

New bathing suits!!

And the smell of freshly mowed grass...

Ahh, I will be able to stop daydreaming soon enough:)

Botanicals Anybody?

What a wonderfully refreshing weekend we had!

Our original plans for this weekend were a bit altered, but it gave us a much needed break, as we are about to plunge into a very event filled month:) You may not have a sports crazed man living in your house, but if you do, you know that baseball season is in full swing, which means my husband has been dying to go to a Giants game! We had decided to catch a game this Saturday, but seeing that the weather forecast was wet and stormy, we opted to hold off on the game until next month. So instead, we were afforded the luxury of sleeping in and lounging around ALL day Saturday! What a glorious way to spend a rainy Saturday:) Although, I must say, we were surprisingly productive for the amount of relaxing we did! We actually went grocery shopping, finished laundry and worked out, all before lunch time:) And yet, I still somehow managed to watch an entire marathon of What I Like About You...You've gotta love DVR!

While the second half of the weekend wasn't spent much at home, we definitely enjoyed ourselves! For some reason, I woke up at 6am:) It was probably the rain and how relaxed my body was from Saturday, but it was wonderful! I even made myself the best healthy french toast and drank 3 cups of coffee. Now that is a great start to the day! Later that morning, I was off with my Mom to attend a free class at Pottery Barn where we learned how to decorate with various vases, flowers and fillers! We have always talked about attending one of these classes (and the ones at Williams Sonoma!) and last weekend we finally decided to sign up. It was fun and we got 10% off of our purchase for the day!! I am always a fan of learning new things...and discounts:) Look what I learned...

After a little shopping and coffee with my Mom, I met up with my hubby and we headed to his Papa's house for lunch with some of the family. Great food and fun times! And on our way there, Chris stopped at Shane Co. so we could get our wedding rings cleaned:) How sweet is he?!

And to top off an already great weekend, our Sunday dinner was Asian-inspired and delicious! I mean, who can resist edamame, grilled flank steak with soba noodles and green tea ice cream?! Yum!! We ended our evening with taking our pup for a walk and watching Ace Ventura Pet Detective (one of Chris' favs!).

I am SOO ready to take on this week!

Merry Monday!

Month-to-Month

Well, its official. As of today our apartment lease is up and we are paying month-to-month...

I would like to say a few things about this~

First of all, I can't believe it was one whole year ago that I couldn't sit still in anticipation of decorating our first home! I was seriously like a little kid. When I finished unpacking all I could while Chris was working, I literally sat on our bare floors admiring our furniture-less little home:) Nerd, I know! Of course it didn't stay that way for long. As I have told you, we are busting at the seems a year later:) Ha!

If we could walk down memory lane for a second ~ Our first night at the apartment, Chris and I made homemade pizza for dinner and watched a movie on the the empty living room floor with our portable DVD player:) Like I told you, we hadn't moved the couch or TV in yet:) Oh the sweet memories...

But secondly, I can't believe we are still waiting to hear if we will be buying a house in the near future!

All I know is, wherever we end up living, this next year is sure to be just as fabulous as our first year! After all, our home is where we make it:)

Merry May!

I was being sentimental and dug up some pics of our first real dinner in the apartment after we got back from our honeymoon:)(when I actually moved in with my husband!)

Workouts, Wine and Cute Sisters

This week has continued to be busy at work. In fact, we're so busy, I am actually craving my daily workouts as a means to relieve some tension! The other night I was running and I literally did not want to stop! I even decided to weight train even though I hadn't planned on it. Can I just say how much I love that a good workout can totally clear your head and restore your energy! It helps that I have the absolute BEST playlist to keep me going! My workout mix is complete with several RPM tracks, Pink and of course U2's Beautiful Day to cool me down:) Ah...I am getting revved up just thinking about it!

So yesterday we received our first shipment of wine from Chandon:) While we were in Napa, we joined their wine club:) You have to understand how much I adore their sparkling wine selection! Amazing!!

Last thing, I just had to post this YouTube video of my little sister, Ava. She is so stinkin' cute! Watch it, I promise you won't be disappointed! Notice how she shakes her shoulders around minute 1:50.

Hope your day is lovely!

A Few Words on Words

You know that saying about how sticks and stones may break your bones but words can never hurt you? My opinion: biggest lie ever!

It has occured to me lately just how many opinions are out there. How great it is that we live in a country where we are able to express our opinions so freely! However, since when does having our own opinion entitle us to be cruel to others who don't share it? I have something to say: Words can hurt!!

I know that conversations can turn to heated discussions, which can lead to saying things we don't mean, but come on. Does a political conversation really have to turn into bashing people we would otherwise call a friend or family member, let alone someone we may not know or like very much?

Over the last few years, I have been learning how important it is to listen and respect people, even if I don't agree with thier politics, morals and other beliefs. Every single person should be able to give their opinion without being verbally attacked.

While mulling over this today, into my head popped a verse from James, "be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." James 1:19. Now those are words to live by!

Can we just remember to think before we say things we can't take back?

Wishing everyone a fantastic and peaceful week!
